Guests tend to come to the Botswana bush to get away from it all - thus Chobe Chilwero has not installed telephones or televisions in the individual rooms. But if business cannot be kept at bay, a small business centre will be included in the public area, offering telephone and fax services. In addition, a small library has been built which could also be used for lectures and nature talks. This room will also house a television, VCR and slide projector.
Safari activities at Chobe are diverse, exciting and are tailored to suit individual requirements. Game drives are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles, normally in the early morning and late afternoon, under the leadership of qualified Botswana guides. The Chobe floodplain is renowned for its concentrations of Buffalo and Elephant. The late evening in particular, provides spectacular viewing. All vehicles are equipped with two-way radio systems, thus facilitating optimum sightings of the major species. |
Day 2: Chobe Chilwero Lodge, Chobe National Park, BotswanaFor the true lover of unspoiled Africa, these safaris will capture the magnificence and very real essence of Botswana's natural landscapes and wildlife heritage. Game viewing and fishing from small boats is a special Chobe experience. Additionally, there is a sunset cruise, which provides spectacular wildlife viewing and vistas of an African sunset. Afternoon game viewing in the Chobe area, returning to the lodge for dinner. |
Day 3: Chief's Camp, Okavango Delta, BotswanaAccommodation: Twelve secluded, permanent luxury bush pavilions are designed for ultimate privacy and comfort, and to offer you a front row seat for this rich and rewarding African adventure. Each pavillion features a thatched roof, spacious seating area, en-suite facilities with indoor and outdoor shower as well as a private game viewing deck with hammock and deck chairs. Each room boasts a generous mosquito net on a four-poster bed, two wardrobes, a book shelf, writing desk and mini bar. The main lodge complex houses the dining area, curio shop, library and reception area. There is an exquisite swimming pool and a range of spa treatments are offered by a qualified, inhouse beauty therapist in a poolside treatment sala (high season only). |

The Chobe National Park covers a wide variety of country: riverine forest, flood plain, periodic marsh, mopane and miombo woodland and a few rocky outcrops. Such a diversity of habitats implies a wide variety of wildlife, which ranges from water animals such as Hippopotamus, Crocodile, Otter and fish to forest and dry-land species such as Elephant, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra and Eland.
In all areas predators abound, including Lion, Leopard, Cheetah and both species of Hyena! Pending on time, you may be able to do a short morning game drive then return to camp for a light breakfast before you are transferred back to Kasane Airport for your charter transfer of 1 ½ hours into the Delta to Chief's Camp with Mack Air. |
|
Upon arrival at Chief's Camp's private airstrip, you will be welcomed by one of the rangers and transferred in 4x4 vehicle to the lodge.
On arrival at the lodge the friendly local staff will greet you with cheerful songs and dancing. Assistance will be offered for check-in. Your guide will then escort you to your luxury-tented accommodation. The en-suite facilities, large lounge area and private viewing deck will make you feel at home. Pending on your arrival time you will be treated to a hearty lunch and might have time to relax by the swimming pool. |
