This African wildlife safari covers some of the best wilderness areas in Botswana, from the desolate Makgadikgadi Pans to the unique Okavango Delta. Starting in Kasane and ending at the Victoria Falls in Livingstone, it offers unbeatable value for money.
You will also get the opportunity to visit the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Nxai Pan National Park, Central Okavango Delta and you will spend 3 nights at Moremi Game Reserve and 2 nights at Chobe Game Reserve. Day 1: Chobe River, BotswanaThis African wildlife safari starts at Kasane in northern Botswana, where a full briefing and orientation will be given. Transfers can be organised from Livingstone, Victoria Falls or Kasane airport.
In the afternoon you can take a boat cruise on the Chobe River, with a chance to spot Elephants, Hippos and other animals languishing in and along the river. You will camp on the banks of the Chobe River at a site with permanent ablutions. Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 2: Makgadikgadi Pans, BotswanaRising with the sun, your route takes you 300km (186.4 miles) south to the village of Nata, on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans. You will spend the evening at Nata Sanctuary, a small conservation area boasting large pans and fascinating flora and fauna.
During the afternoon of your African wildlife safari, you will explore this interesting area from your vehicle and on foot. You will camp at a site with permanent ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 3: Nxai Pan National Park, BotswanaYour African wildlife safari continues as you drive through to Nxai Pan National Park with its unique fossil pans dotted with acacia islands. Here sweet grasses host a variety of wildlife and the plains are dotted with grazing herds of Impala and Springbok. The afternoon will be spent on game drives in the Park and you will camp overnight in a site where you will set up bush ablution facilities. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 4: Maun, BotswanaLeaving Nxai Pan National Park, you will visit the magnificent Baine’s Baobabs. These regal trees, immortalised by the explorer Baine’s painting, are situated on the edge of an expansive saltpan. Your African wildlife safari continues on to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, where you will have time to visit the shops and enjoy a relaxing afternoon. You will camp overnight in a site with permanent ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 5: Okavango Delta, BotswanaYour African wildlife safari takes you in a north-westerly direction from Maun, to the western side of the Okavango Delta, a special corner of paradise. You will camp on an island, possibly serenaded by the sound of Hippos and Bell Frogs breaking the night silence. Campsite with bush ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
