What you can expect from this 11 day Fish Eagle Trail safari tour:
This safari travel in Africa starts in Maun and ends in Victoria Falls. It explores the fascinating Okavango Delta water system and passes through some of the best wilderness areas of Botswana. You will also get the opportunity to visit the Central Okavango Delta, and spend 3 nights at Moremi Game Reserve and 2 nights at Chobe Game Reserve.
The highlight of this safari travel in Africa should be the camping Mokoro trip on the Delta waterways. There is also an optional game / scenic Delta flight or an optional visit to the infamous Victoria Falls.
Please note: It is required that you spend a pre-night in Maun if joining a group departure, due to the early departure for the Okavango Delta on Day 1. Please contact us for further details.

Day 1: Okavango Delta, BotswanaThe meeting point for your safari travel in Africa is in Maun at 8:00am. Your collection will be arranged, to the western side of the Okavango Delta, a special corner of paradise. You will camp on the edge of the Okavango Delta, serenaded by the sound of Hippos and Bell Frogs breaking the night silence. The campsite has permanent ablution facilities. Lunch, Dinner. |
Days 2 & 3: Okavango Delta, BotswanaAfter transferring your equipment to motorboats, you will cruise along the narrow papyrus-lined channels of the Delta. While searching for the elusive Sitatunga Antelope, you will be enjoying the exquisite bird life of the region and absorbing the stunning landscape of this area on your safari travel in Africa.
Deeper in the Delta you will meet your mokoros (traditional dugout canoes) and enjoy a tranquil ride to an island where you will spend 2 nights. Most of your time will be spent exploring the island on foot and by mokoro. Camping in the wild with bush ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 4: Maun, BotswanaInspired by the beauty of the Okavango, you will return to your vehicle and retrace your route to Maun. You have the option on your safari travel in Africa to taking a flight over the Delta to return to Maun.
This will provide another perspective of this unique water system and a chance to spot game from the air. Tonight will be spent at a private camp outside Maun. Camping with permanent ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Days 5 - 7: Moremi Game Reserve, BotswanaThe big game aspect of your safari travel in Africa commences today as you enter Moremi Game Reserve, one of the best wilderness areas of Botswana. The park covers swamp areas as well as dry land.
The next 3 nights of your safari travel in Africa will be spent in this park searching for the wide variety of animals and birds in the reserve, while absorbing the sounds and beauty of this region.
Enjoy game drives as the sun rises, and in the late afternoon as the sun sets, will be the norm on your safari travel in Africa. You will camp in private designated areas with bush ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Days 8 & 9: Chobe National Park, BotswanaChobe National Park, with its diverse and striking landscapes, is your next destination on your safari travel in Africa. As you continue your search for wildlife, you will traverse the drier region of Savuti where Bull Elephants dot the plains.
You will then head northwards to the Chobe River on your safari travel in Africa, where your game drives will meander along the banks of the river, followed by the call of the majestic African Fish Eagle. You will camp in private designated areas with bush ablutions. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Days 10 & 11: Livingstone, ZambiaYou will cross the Zambezi River by ferry, then drive to Livingstone on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, where you will stay at the comfortable Lost Horizons Lodge. There is time on your safari travel in Africa to visit the thunderous Victoria Falls and shop for curios. Dinner is at your own expense at the lodge. Your safari in Africa officially ends at 10am on Day 11.
Post tour accommodation, activities and transfers to Livingstone, Victoria Falls or Kasane airports can be arranged at additional cost. There are many exciting activities offered at the Falls, such as the exhilarating white water rafting down the Zambezi Gorge, Elephant rides and Helicopter Flights over the Falls. On day 10 of your safari travel in Africa, breakfast and lunch will be served. On day 11 of your safari travel in Africa, breakfast will be served. |

Transfers to Livingstone, Victoria Falls or Kasane airports can be arranged. We will gladly assist with bookings for accommodation and activities, should you wish to extend your visit to enjoy some of the other exciting activities offered at the Falls, such as the exhilarating white water rafting down the Zambezi Gorge. |
