Day 1: Chobe, BotswanaThis morning you will have some free time for last minute shopping or exploring the town, before you depart for Livingstone and cross into Botswana to begin your Botswana safari. You will set up camp on the edge of the Chobe National Park. You have the option on your Botswana safari of a cruise on the Chobe River for your first chance of game viewing. Dinner. |
Day 2: Maun, BotswanaThe early morning of your Botswana safari will see you head off on a 4x4 game drive inside the Chobe for more game viewing. You will often see some of the migratory herds this area is famous for on your Botswana safari.
Leaving for Maun on your Botswana safari, it is common to see Elephant and other animals on both sides of the road. Keep your eyes open for any sightings. You will arrive in Maun, the gateway to the Delta late afternoon. Breakfast, Dinner. |
Day 3: Okavango Delta, BotswanaVenture into the wild bush of Africa, far from any form of civilisation. Your Botswana safari begins once again by 4x4 Landrover as you journey across the 'Buffalo Fence' into the wildlife area.
Once in the Delta you will join local villagers / guides on mokoros (2 man dug out canoes) and begin your Okavango Delta safari. You will search for an abundance of wildlife that inhabits the Delta. Drifting silently through the channels, you will set up camp on islands in the Delta. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 4: Okavango DeltaThis Okavango Delta safari allows you a unique opportunity to live under nature’s rules! Rising with the sun you will enjoy more poling on the mokoros, drifting silently through the channels as well as game walks tracking different animals and learning their habits.
Your Okavango Delta safari gives you a great opportunity to learn about the people of the area as each 2-man mokoros has a poler or local guide who grew up in the area and lives in the local village. These people work together in a community tourism initiative. After a breathtaking sunset, relax around the campfire listening to sounds the night has to offer. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 5: Okavango Delta / Maun, BotswanaThis morning on your Okavango Delta safari you will have another game viewing opportunity on the mokoro. You will then transfer back to Maun on a 4x4, a drive that often turns into a game drive itself.
You have the option on your Okavango Delta safari of a game flight over the Delta, which gives you a superb overview of the area as well as some game viewing. The afternoon of your Okavango Delta safari is yours to enjoy at leisure. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 6: Khama Rhino Sanctuary, BotswanaYou will spend your final evening of your Okavango Delta safari camping at the Rhino Sanctuary where they are breeding Rhinos to reintroduce to Botswana’s wildlife area. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. |
Day 7: Johannesburg, South AfricaToday you will drive through to Johannesburg arriving late afternoon, where unfortunately your Botswana safari will come to an end. Breakfast. |
